This is too much.
After reading this comment I couldn't resist checking out the author's journal. Only one entry but it's a keeper:
this is my first entry... I have purchased the poker bot reconmend at paul phillips blog and man I was disapointed... It is a share ware and a free trial poker analyzer the is linked together.. it is hard to manipulate and it is not what i thought it was.. i am very disapointed........ I ran the bot on a 1/2 table 4 24 hours and it lost 50 bucks...dont buy this
The poker bot RECOMMENDED AT PAUL PHILLIPS BLOG. How do these people tie their shoes in the morning?
I can't believe I accidentally generated some business for that guy. He must be cackling and shouting "WHO'S LAUGHING NOW, EX-TEM-PORE!? HA HA HA HA HA!" For all I know there could be dozens more who bought it due to my "recommendation" who neglected to post about it. Fortunately he is only releasing PokerBots until TWO DAYS HENCE and they will be gone forever. So at least the madness will end... TWO DAYS HENCE. It's sort of an online pokerbot's version of Zeno's paradox.
I should add a new entry to the paulp faq.
Q: I am incapable of seeing beyond the strictest, most literal interpretation possible, even when reading the blog of someone who almost never writes literally. Should I rely on your blog for purchasing advice?
A: Yes.

Also, let's assume that he's actually a bright individual who authored the post knowing that Paul might see it. I suppose kudos are in order for his flawless imitation of a one of his lower-watt brethren. But why expend all the energy just so he can get made fun of?

The date of that entry is april 11th, by the way. Did he post it and then patiently wait two weeks on the hopes I would look at his blog?
I know it seems improbable but poker is big enough now that my blog gets a cross-section of the entirety of Internet-enabled humanity. That, unfortunately, includes plenty of people who are capable of interpreting that blog entry as a recommendation.

I concur. Paul is an authority on fake online people. Smooth call.

Speaking of Smoothcall....
Speaking of Smoothcall.... I noticed that he is once again posting on twoplustwo. Anyone know what the scoop is regarding this? I was under the impression that he had been banned from the site for "impersonating" Paul.April 25 2005, 01:51:49 UTC 7 years ago

ok paul
ok paul have your fun.... One day our paths will cross and we will talk face to face. I at first quickly read your post on the poker bot(dry sense of humor) and clicked on the link. I was excited with the prospect that you were endorsing this product, So excited in fact I purchased it.. I then returned to you blod to realize I had to open a journal to make a post. I then made an entry explaining my thoughts on the product.. I returned to your blog and realized that you were commenting on the auto date change... I went through a whole bunch of emails to get a refund and posted those results. It was a hassle( but a mistake) never the less I learned from. If you want to question my brain cap, no problem I can take it, I know you have never misread something or become excited and made a snap decsion. I am not a perfect billionare like you and struggle to earn my money playing poker.. The limits my bank roll can afford I have to deal with jerks and idiots that resemble the play of a tuan lee and it is very fustrating , I may have vented to an extreme on that subject and I feel that way inside and should of kept it there. I hope that you enjoy the feeling you get making fun of me and my comments. The world is full of struggling people and I am one of them .I cant wait to meet you face to face and pay respect to you and your huge brain that is able to make all of the correct decisions that life has to offer.. Good luck to you and till we meet. P.S. I will not post here anymore to make more room for all of the intelects and your ass kissers you seem to generate on this blog..April 25 2005, 02:48:41 UTC 7 years ago
Re: ok paul
I will never understand this sort of reasoning. "Oh no, all of my opponents play poker too poorly! How I hate them! I wish they played better!" I know that's what I look for, tough games. That's where the money is.April 25 2005, 04:26:20 UTC 7 years ago
Re: ok paul
I cant wait to meet you face to faceOh good, nothing rounds out my day like barely veiled threats.
your huge brain that is able to make all of the correct decisions that life has to offer
If life offered me correct decisions then my huge brain would have little to contribute. Sadly life has always made my huge brain earn its keep.
