Mar. 25th, 2005 @ 10:40 pm pokerbot pro! ACT NOW!
You are about to get the chance to earn a GREAT living from online poker - 100% GAURANTEED!

People ask me all the time why I bother offering the PokerBot Pro to the public at all - and the truth is I love giving back to the poker community and empowering others to make a great living at this wonderful game.

But I simply cannot help everyone.

The PokerBot Pro can only remain effective if few people have access to it. That is why I am going to take down this web site on [BLINKING DATE TWO DAYS HENCE] and never offer the PokerBot Pro to the public again.

The true brilliance is that the pressure cutoff date is generated in javascript rather than server-side, so you can see it in the page source. It's even commented!

var AddDays = 2; // How many days ahead of the current date

I realize there is no overlap between the audience for this product and people who would view the source. But, still...

My favorite part

This is not an "insider's guide" to poker (how exactly does one become a poker insider anyway? lol)

Heh, and no screenshots of the pokerbot software itself - just a photoshopped Party Poker total.

That said, I think it'd be great if there was a poker service that let everyone script bots that would just play each other all day.

This guy is bright. On the party poker screenshot he didn't censor the "Welcome [username] at the top of the lobby window"

Looks like it's "steveglazer".

support@partypoker.com anyone?

The funny thing is that there really are people who make a living off of having their bots play poker for them. I severely doubt any of them would be willing to sell their software for less than a ludicrous sum of money though. As soon as many people started using it the software's MO would become known and rapidly banned. Tens of thousands sounds like about the right price.

not sure

Not true Paul. I occasionally view the source of web pages I come across. I am sure there are plenty others out there as well.

"For a tiny investment of only $199.99 make that $59.95, you can ..."

It's a shame this guy has no backspace key. Fortunately he can use strikethrough effectively to compensate.

There's an interview with the guy. I figure whether he's actually selling a bot or he's scamming people, he's a bad guy. I lean towards the scamming. I did not write a very kind report.

Sorry if this is taken as a plug, it's not meant to be. Just more info on the site and the guy (who is not actually named David Glazen).

Here is an excerpt:

PN: Am I correct in saying that your bot has two parts: an AI Engine and mouse-click simulator?
DG: Yes you are completely correct - the trick is how to connect one with the other.

I find it implausible that connecting them is "the trick".

Photoshop party account

I love the fact that the "Cash Out" Button is disabled in his party poker account... i'd imagine thats more proof its a photoshopped bank... Could be wrong though

Re: Photoshop party account

Maybe Party Poker caught him cheating, maybe by using bots, and won't let him cash out. It would be funny if he got busted and now tries to sell the bots.

I love the the box in which the software is apparently shipped -- it's completely photoshopped.

LOL! At first I was confused, Paul's advertising this scumbag's product?
*SARCASM ALERT* The following next statement in this testicle or rather tentacle is heavy ladened with sarcasm, do not try this stuff at home.
I came to my senses, I just love the old school time pressure sales tactics.
They do help me make quicker quality purchasing decisions easier.
I think this should be illegal and the bozos who do it, rendered sterile, I am sick of these shitheads breeding or if you prefer replicating...

Late night TV ads are full of these, act now or IF YOU CALL WITHIN THE NEXT 15 mins, we will throw in another piece of crap for FREE!*
Free always means: Shipping and Handling charge - cost of POS item = PROFIT.

OK so back to these bots, they have been around a while, I will not list off another site's bot, but he did offer a limited trial and I did load it to see what features it has and all that several months ago, just so I could see with my own eyes....

If these bots were full proof $ machines? These assholes should not share them with anyone, that's what it really comes down to... Letting the masses know ANYTHING, always ends in the death of something. (Use you imagination)

I akin it to ALL the late night real estate systems for sale...

ALL playing to the audience of 3am TV watchers who must not have ANYTHING else to do. I've been unemployed a while myself, but I have tons of things I would do, before watching these moronic sales pitches on TV.

The only reason I would watch them at all, is for LAUGHS!

I was an IT casualty in the outsourcing movement. It started really with MORE contractor usage rather than hiring permanent staff IMO, it just came to a head finally with this obnoxious out-sourcing on foreign soil for a pittance in pay, but to those getting the pittance it's actually a lot of money there, which I really can't blame them for taken, it just shows you how out of WACK our economy really is if you lookly deeply at the details.

I was bitter, but hell now I am glad, I hated working for these ungrateful assholes, corporations have changed too much and it's all about the CEO now, there is recent news that their pay has gone up significantly!

Yet, what happens to the common worker bees? We all know the answer...

I digressed again...

Anyhow, I passionately oppose bots and their ilk, BUT and it's a BIG BUT:

Until the US laws are made more clear on legality or lack of, Internet Poker, how is one really to deal with this?

In my mind, it's insane for the U.S.A. to have IP be illegal, it should be embraced full throttle, we need new industries that WOULD generate a lot of jobs.

I think I am doing it again, but anyhow, I felt like like saying it. 8)

Poke holes in what I theorized, that's fine, a good debate or sharing of ideas, is a good thing.

OH yeah, now that Terri is gone, RIP! We can now focus back to more important things!

Michael Jackson's molestation trial! LOL!

I love how the war in Iraq gets taken to page 2 to this SHIT.

Now I will say this, these bot folks are not near as bad as these PHISHING
spammers. Those assholes should get the death penalty.

I would never buy one of these poker bots, but the idea has a lot of merit in today's online poker world.

I know plenty of people that are bonus whoring with 2,3,4, or even more accounts originally set up on various computers with friends and family. They shuffle money from site to site and account to account playing as many as 4 tables at a time wherever the greatest dollars per hour can be earned off bonuses.

Many of the bonuses work out to about $5-$7 per hour at low limits. Playing 4 tables that's as much as $28 per hour if you are break even player at $1-$2. If you are a slightly positive player and can move up in the ranks, that can work out to a very attractive rate with almost no risk.

If you could play break even poker with a poker bot, you could maximize your hours at the table and limit your actual playing time.

So you have lots of friends that are breaking the rules, TOO.

Basically if caught, they will be facing some problems.

The nature of IP addresses that would be very easy to get noticed and prove.

I realize this abuse is widespread, and at some point, when the industry is more regulated, it will become TOO risky.
